The voice-enabled “IoTree” connects to any mobile device and is the first smart product released by the lumber industry
PORTLAND, Ore. — April 1, 2019 — Hampton Lumber, a third-generation, family-owned wood products manufacturer and forestland owner today announced its cutting-edge line of smart trees, the IoTree. Available today by special order, the IoTree is a voice-enabled, cloud-connected structure perfect for the backyard. The two hundred-foot tall IoTree is the first smart device to be pioneered by the lumber industry.
The IoTree starts at a reasonable $375,000 and takes just a matter of days to install. While providing no environmental benefits, the IoTree offers seamless integration to play music, activate LED lights and search the internet through voice-enabled technology and the IoTree mobile app ($24.99 monthly app subscription not included with IoTree purchase).
“We are thrilled to be at the forefront of smart tech coming out of the forest. There is so much potential for our industry to be more involved in groundbreaking innovations for the end-user, and this launch underscores our commitment to pushing boundaries,” said Steve Zika, CEO at Hampton Lumber. “We know how impactful this product will be for backyard barbecues and gatherings across the country, and hope that we can set the bar for how consumers engage with TimberTech.”
